Peer-to-Peer PD As Wellness

Amid the ongoing double pandemic of Covid-19 and anti-Blackness, PD needs to be more than just another thing for exhausted teachers to do. Rather than putting more on teachers’ plates, peer-to-peer PD can honor teachers’ values, affirm in-house expertise, strengthen relationships, and foster a sense of purpose—all of which contributes to wellness. In this session, participants will learn about three structures for professional learning—the toolbox share, the intervision group, and the bringback—that position all teachers as equal and meaningful contributors, not only to their own learning, but to one another’s learning and to a thriving community.
